MANILA, Philippines —  The Philippine National Police (PNP) started investigating the hospital visit of detained Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. who allegedly attended the birthday celebration of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile at the PNP-General Hospital on February 14.

On the orders of Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II, PNP officer-in-charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina directed Police Director Francisco Montenegro of the Investigation and Detective Management to lead the probe.
Revilla, along with Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, is detained at the Custodial Center while Enrile is under hospital arrest for plunder and graft charges in connection with the P10 billion pork barrel scam.

Espina said the investigation aims to validate the circumstances behind some published photos purportedly showing Revilla and Enrile together when they were supposed to be confined in separate detention facilities.

Also under probe are some personnel and officials of the PNP Headquarters and Support Service under Police Chief Superintendent Albert Supapo.

Supapo's initial report said that Revilla was brought to the PNP General Hospital around 4:28 p.m. on  February 14 to undergo urgent check up. He was escorted by a two-man security detail.

Around 4:30 p.m., Revilla underwent monitoring of vital signs and physical check up by the duty physician at the emergency war.

Medication was administered to relieve Revilla's pain and discomfort, the report said.

Revilla and Enrile had a chance meeting around 4:52 p.m. along the hallway of the hospital where they exchanged pleasantries, the report added.

Revilla's security escorts brought the senator back to the Custodial Center around 4:55 p.m.

Earlier, the PNP said the hospital officials are open for an investigation regarding the incident.
