Bong denies sneaking out of custodial center
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla has denied sneaking out of the custodial center in Camp Crame to party with Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile on his birthday last Feb. 14 at the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital in the same compound, but did not address the two photographs that prosecutors have presented in court.
The photographs showed Revilla in the company of Enrile in an area in the hospital with several tables with red mantles.
In a statement sent to The STAR, Revilla said guards took him to the hospital on Feb. 14 at about 3 p.m. in the company of his two sons, Bryan and Jolo, after a written request to Superintendent Lobello Fabro, custodial center director.
“I was rushed to the PNP General Hospital after experiencing cold sweats, stiffness and pain on the back my head and neck, and a debilitating migraine attack,” he said.
“It appeared that I had a spike in my blood pressure. I stayed in the hospital for less than 30 minutes and was immediately taken back to my detention cell to rest, after my blood pressure normalized.”
