MANILA, Philippines - Muntinlupa Rep. Rodolfo Biazon on Wednesday proposed that the House of Representatives (HOR) and the Senate conduct a joint hearing on the Mamasapano operation.

The lawmaker filed the resolution during the House inquiry on the said incident, noting that the objectives of the HOR and the Senate are the same.

"A considerable amount of resources are spent in conducting these public hearings which are also taking time of government officials of departments and offices handling concerns vital to the security and peace and order situation of the nation," Biazon said in his statement.

Biazon added that the resource persons invited to the hearings also have duties to perform.

"Are we not taking away the presence of these officials from the primary function that they have to perform in this country?" Biazon told the House panel, referring to Armed Forces of the Philippines officials.

The lawmaker noted that conducting a joint investigation with the Senate will be an example of judicious use of the state's resources.
