MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos will continue to experience chilly mornings this week due to the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.
PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura said temperatures are still expected to go down this week.
Pura said the northeast monsoon would continue to blow over Luzon until the first week of March.
“The morning temperatures this week may still surpass the previously recorded coldest weather,” he said.
The coldest recorded temperatures in Metro Manila and Baguio City so far since the start of the northeast monsoon season in October were 18 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Yesterday, the lowest temperatures recorded in Metro Manila and Baguio City were 19.2 degrees Celsius and 11.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
