MANILA, Philippines - Department of Justice (DOJ) employees were asked to evacuate the compound of the agency at Padre Faura, Manila on Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.
The officials of the DOJ have no yet given an official statement regarding the details of the bomb scare.
According to a report aired on television, ABS-CBN News independently received text messages about the bomb threat on the office of Justice Secretary Leila De Lima.
The message demanded for the restoration of the visitation rights at the Maximum Security Compound in the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).
A bomb will detonate if the visitation rights are not restored on Wednesday, according to the text message.
Teams from the National Bureau of Investigation are now investigating the premises of the DOJ.
De Lima earlier removed the visiting privilege of inmates in relation to the grenade explosion last month at the NBP compound which killed an inmate and wounded 19 others.
