Ex-FG Arroyo asks Court to allow him to fly abroad

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - Former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo has asked the Sandiganbayan to allow him to leave the country this month.

In his motion for leave abroad, Arroyo asked the anti-graft court's Fifth Division to allow him to fly to Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong from January 22 up to January 30.

Arroyo said he will leave for Japan and Hong Kong to take care of his businesses.

Last year, the Sandiganbayan allowed Arroyo to leave the country for Italy and Germany.

Arroyo is facing graft charges before the tribunal for the sale of alleged overpriced helicopters to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
