MANILA, Philippines - The death toll from tropical storm Seniang ballooned to 35, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday.
In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said that the casualties came from Regions 7,8, 10, 11 and Caraga.
The NDRRMC also reported that 26 persons were injured during the weather disturbance while eight were missing.
Meanwhile, the state emergency response agency said that more than 127,000 persons or over 27,000 families were affected by Seniang.
Of the affected population, more than 5,000 families were preemptively evacuated to 79 temporary shelter sites in various regions.
