Holiday sked for courts set

MANILA, Philippines - Work in the judiciary will only be until noon today.

Courts will be closed on Dec. 29, Monday, and Jan. 2, Friday.

In separate administrative orders issued yesterday, the Supreme Court (SC) declared half-day work in courts today, and Dec. 29 and Jan. 2 as special non-working holidays in the judiciary.

Dec. 25, Christmas Day; Dec. 30, Rizal Day; and Jan. 1, New Year’s Day are regular holidays.

Malacañang has declared Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 as non-working holidays.

The additional holidays in the judiciary were declared to maximize the long holidays this Christmas season.

The SC is in recess and will resume session on Jan. 13.
