MANILA, Philippines - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is considering the bus bombing incident in Bukidnon last Tuesday as a terrorist act.
AFP Spokesman Col. Restituto Padilla condemned the act during a press briefing at Camp Aguinaldo on Wednesday.
The military is currently investigating a certain group who is allegedly responsible for the attack.
The AFP is working with the Philippine National Police to resolve the case and identify the people behind the bombing.
Padilla reminded the public in the area to be alert and cooperate with the authority to resolve and prevent such crimes to occur again.
Around 11 passengers of the Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. bus were reported to be killed while several were injured during an explosion from an improvised explosive device.
The bus was from Wao, Lanao del Sur and was on its way to Cagayan de Oro City when an explosion occured at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a few meters aways from the main entrance of Central Mindanao University. Most of the victims were students of the said school.
