Espinosa elected to MOPC board

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine STAR chairman Ray Espinosa was elected to the 2015 board of governors of the Manila Overseas Press Club during the elections held at the Manila Golf Club last Tuesday.

Espinosa is also the chairman of Stargate Media Corp., the publisher of glossy magazine PeopleAsia. Espinosa obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the Ateneo de Manila University Law School and his Master of Laws from the University of Michigan. The new MOPC board member, who topped the Philippine Bar examinations in 1982, is also a long-time director of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.

Also elected to the MOPC board were Stargate CEO and publisher Babe Romualdez, Rolando Estabillo, Eric Canoy, Maloli Espinosa-Supnet, Hector Villanueva, Nelia Gonzalez and Elpi Cuna. 

The MOPC was founded in 1945 and is recognized as the country’s oldest and most prestigious press club, with members coming from media and other sectors such as business, government and the diplomatic corps.
