MANILA, Philippines - At least 16 persons were injured when two objects exploded in front of a school in Poblacion Kabacan, North Cotabato last night.
Capt. Jo-Ann Petinglay, public affairs officer of the Army’s 6th division, said the objects, believed to be improvised explosive devices, went off at 6:45 p.m. near the gate of Pilot Central School.
Petinglay said among those injured were Samra Sembaga, Hartzel Bragat, Tonton Kusain, Flo Rohana, Monique Mantawil, Girlie Royless, Rowena Nufies, Albert Palakpak, Ritchie Baguio, Queen Mary Alimuhanid, Mohamid Masukat, Ibrahim Bantulan, and Arvie Estrella
Other victims remained unidentified as of press time.
Those hurt were brought to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities were still investigating the incident.
