DNA swabs taken from Pemberton

MANILA, Philippines - A team of policemen from the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory (PNP-CL) took yesterday DNA samples from detained US Marine Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton inside the US-controlled facility at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The process on Pemberton, done under the direct supervision of PNP-CL director Chief Superintendent Teresita Ann Cid, was witnessed by Olongapo City prosecutors led by Emily Fe Delos Santos.

“At around 2 p.m. today, a team of police officers entered the Mutual Defense Board-Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) facility here to take swab samples for the DNA testing of Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton,” said Lt. Col. Harold Cabunoc, chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Public Affairs Office.

The procedures which was supposed to take several minutes took more than one hour to complete.
