MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be on full alert status starting October 30 for the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas said the full alert status will be lowered on November 3.
Roxas added that more than 40,000 policemen will be on alert to secure vital installations and public places such as cemeteries, churches, bus terminals, seaports, airports and malls.
He said that in Metro Manila, more than 4,000 policemen will be deployed.
As a consequence of the full alert status, Roxas said the leaves of policemen are cancelled as they will be on extended duty.
Aside from the policemen, the government will also tap thousands of force multipliers such as civilian volunteer groups and barangay personnnel to secure places of convergence during the observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
