'Neneng' exits Philippines, heading to Japan
MANILA, Philippines - Typhoon Neneng (international name Phanfone) has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its 4 a.m. bulletin on Saturday that "Neneng" has exited the Philippines and was heading toward southern Japan.
It's center was estimated at 1,240 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It remained strong, packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 210 kph.
The weather bureau said the typhoon is enhancing the northeasterly winds causing rought to very rough sea conditions over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon.
"Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over these seaboards," it said.
Neneng was the 14th storm to enter the Philippines this year.
