BRUSSELS, Philippines – President Aquino warned some individuals and groups Monday against getting too excited about the 2016 elections, as he urged Filipinos to continuously exercise their power to shape the government that they wish to serve them.
In a speech before the Filipino community at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, Aquino enumerated his administration’s many programs and projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.
He said it is the duty of the government to provide opportunities and that through cooperation, nothing is impossible.
He reiterated that Filipinos could dream again with the resurgence of the economy and the Philippines as a whole.
“You’re the ones who shape the government that will do these things for you,” Aquino said.
The President said the political noise is getting louder in the run up to 2016, triggering undue excitement in some Filipinos.
