MANILA, Philippines - Three more policemen involved in the kidnapping case on EDSA in Mandaluyong City last September 1 have expressed their intention to turn themselves in to authorities.
Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano made the announcement regarding the surrender feelers after one of the suspects, Senior Inspector Allan Emlano of the Caloocan City police surrendered, a radio report said.
Emlano personally surrendered Wednesday to Albano to clear his name regarding the case.
Two more police officers - Chief Inspector Joseph De Vera and Police Officer 2 Jonathan Rodriguez - are now in the custody of authorities. They are facing kidnapping with serious illegal detention charges before the Mandaluyong City Prosecutors' Office.
As this developed, Albano also called on the other policemen whose names have been dragged into the case to come out and surrender.
"Pagkakataon niyo na para lumutang na rin kayo para maibuo kung ano ang istorya kasi kung lulutang ka ng una eh di iba ang kwento mo hindi mo maka-countercheck," he said.
Authorities are still looking for at least nine more policemen who were allegedly involved in the case.
