The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Security personnel arrested four people who had entered the parking lot of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay with a vehicle laden with explosives today.

Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group Head Chief Christopher Laxa said, "The four were arrested with IEDs (improvised explosive devices) around 1 a.m. today. They also reported had firearms like cal. 38 pistols."

"We don't want to comment further at this time because we wouldn't want to compromise any further operation," Laxa said.

Police has checked on the nationalities of the four. It was not immediately clear if the suspects were planning to detonate the explosives inside the airport.
