Bam Aquino joins ice bucket challenge, donates to PGH

MANILA, Philippines - The ice bucket challenge swept the Philippine Senate on Wednesday after Senator Bam Aquino took his turn in dumping himself with cold water.

Aquino and some members of his staff conducted the ice bucket challenge at the garden area of his Senate office at the fifth floor.

The senator pledged a entertainment system to the neurology ward of the Philippine General Hospital where there are patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis confined.

Aquino then nominated Education Secretary Armin Luistro, Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman, the members of the Eraserheads band, and the main trio of the defunct TV show “Palibhasa Lalake,” Richard Gomez, John Estrada and Joey Marquez.

Senator Sonny Angara is also doing his own ice bucket challenge today, a staff member said.
