DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least 19 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who returned from Libya and are now here in Southern Mindanao received P10,000 each from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)’s Regional Welfare Office XI as cash assistance.

OFWs repatriated from Libya starting last July 20 are entitled to a one-time financial assistance.

The aid was approved by the OWWA Board of Trustees.

The monetary assistance is immediately released upon completion of documentary requirements.

Aside from this, the repatriates may also undergo a reintegration program and livelihood training if they decide to stay in the country for good.

Returnees with contract-related problems are referred to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for legal advice and other assistance.

Meanwhile, those seeking local or overseas employment are referred to Phil-jobnetor the POEA. On the other hand, those wishing to stay for good are referred to the Balik-Pinas Balik-Hanapbuhay program of the government.
