Good weather to continue in next 3 days

Ghio Ong, Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Good weather will continue in the next three days, apart from passing light rains and thunderstorms.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) senior weather forecasters Robert Sawi and Rene Paciente said no tropical cyclone or low-pressure area was expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until Friday.

However, Sawi said there is a high probability of passing light rains in the afternoon or evening in most parts of the country, including Metro Manila.

Occasional rains might prevail over Northern Luzon due to a monsoon trough by Friday, he added.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in some of the major tourist destinations, including Vigan, Ilocos Sur; Baguio City; Banaue; Anilao, Batangas; Puerto Galera; Taal, Batangas; Naga City; El Nido, Palawan; Boracay; Cebu; Camiguin and Davao, until Thursday.

PAGASA said the northern seaboard of Luzon, including Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan, northern coast of Cagayan and northern coast of Ilocos Norte, will have moderate to rough seas with wave heights expected to reach 2.1 to four meters.

“Fishing boats and other small sea craft are alerted against moderate to rough seas,” PAGASA said.

PAGASA said three more tropical cyclones are likely to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this month.

Typhoon Jose enhanced the southwest monsoon and dumped heavy rains over some parts of Northern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila.
