MANILA, Philippines — Janet Lim Napoles appeared before the Sandiganbayan Third Division on Friday morning but left the bail hearing due to fever.

Napoles' body temperature was recorded at 37.73 degrees Celcius while her blood pressure was 140/80 after she left the proceeding on her appeal to be allowed to post bail for plunder charges in connection with the pork barrel scam.

A radio report said that the Office of the Ombudsman's prosecution panel did not object to Napoles' exit.

Napoles was transferred Monday night to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig from the special detention facility in Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna after the anti-graft court released a new commitment order.

The detained businesswoman, the alleged mastermind of the pork barrel scam, appeared for the first time in court in handcuffs as part of the procedure of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, which oversees the Taguig jail. She is currently detained in isolation. - Camille Diola
