MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - The number of people killed in typhoon Rammasun in the Philippines further increased to 64, while five others have remained missing, the state disaster agency said Friday.
Forty-three of those who died came from Calabarzon Region, two from the National Capital Region, four from Central Luzon, five from Mimaropa Region, four from the Bicol Region, one from Western Visayas, and five from Eastern Visayas, Alexander Pama, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said.
At least 103 people were also reported injured due to the typhoon.
Total damages to infrastructure and agriculture were estimated at P5.68 billion ($130.45 million).
Power blackout was still being experienced in some parts of the provinces of Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, Quezon, and Metro Manila.
