MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang on Tuesday night announced that it is suspending work in government offices and classes in all levels in Metro Manila and other areas to be affected by Typhoon "Glenda" on Wednesday.
In Memorandum Circular No. 67 signed by Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa, the Palace said the areas covered by the suspension order include those placed under public storm warning signal number 2.
"Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and in view of the inclement weather brought about by Typhoon “Glenda,” work in government offices and classes in all levels, both public and private, in the National Capital Region and in areas under Typhon Signal 2 are hereby suspended tomorrow, 16 July 2014," the order said.
In its earlier weather bulletin, weather bureau PAGASA said areas under storm signal number 2 were:
