MANILA, Philippines — The Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) said that the sale of forfeited properties of late strongman Ferdinand Marcos's crony has attracted 14 prospective bidders and counting.

The PCGG said in a statement Friday that the interested parties purchased the bidding documents a week after the announcement of the auction for residential assets of former National Bureau of Investigation director Jolly Bugarin.

The bidding is for a house and lot in North Greenhills, San Juan City with a lot area of 727 square meters, another house and lot in Valle Verde III, Pasig City with an area of 721 square meters, and a 582 square meter vacant lot in BF Homes Subdivision, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

Minimum bid for the North Greenhills house was set at P60.74 million, while a minimum of P45.47 million is being asked for the Valle Verde III property. The Capitol Hills lot, meanwhile, is valued upwards from P8.14 million.

Commissioner Richard Almurao of the bureau's bids and awards committee said he is "very pleased" with the interest shown on the sequestered real estate.

The bidding date is set on September 1 for the Greenhills and Valle Verde assets, and on September 2 for the Quezon City lot.
