PMA now accepting applicants

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is now accepting applications from those who are aspiring to serve the country as officers of the armed forces.

PMA spokesman Maj. Rey Balido Jr. said the academy is now inviting applicants for its entrance examination on Aug. 3.

To be qualified, an applicant should be a natural born Filipino citizen, single and has never been married nor pregnant nor has a legal obligation to support a child.

They should be born from April 1, 1993 to April 1, 1998 and should be at least a high school graduate. A high school student who was born from April 2, 1998 to April 1, 2015 may also take the test but will be processed for admission the year after the examination.

Applicants may submit their application through regular mail or courier services. They may also apply online through the academy’s website www.pma.ph.

Walk in applicants with complete documents will be allowed to take the test as long as there are enough examination booklets. The deadline for the submission of the requirements is on July 25.

PMA will put up 37 testing centers for the convenience of students in far-flung areas.

Entrance exams will be held in Manila, Quezon City, Baguio City, Laoag City, Dagupan City, Bontoc, Bayombong, Tuguegarao City, Cabanatuan City, Tarlac City, San Fernando in Pampanga, Calapan City, Lipa City, Puerto Princesa City, Lucena City, Legaspi City, Naga City, Bacolod City, Iloilo City, Kalibo, Aklan, Cebu City, Dumaguete City, Tagbilaran City , Catbalogan City, Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, Butuan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Ozamis City, Davao City, General Santos City, Tacurong City, Iligan City, Cotabato City, Jolo, Sulu, Basco, Batanes, and Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

The test will measure the applicants’ abilities in Mathematics specifically Algebra and Geometry, English particularly grammar, composition and reading comprehension, and Abstract Reasoning

PMA graduates will hold the rank of 2nd lieutenant after they graduate. – Alexis Romero
