MANILA, Philippines -The Sandiganbayan on Thursday denied the plea for bail of the two co-accused of Senator Ramon Revilla Jr.in the plunder and graft cases in connection with the pork barrel scam.
Associate Justice Efren dela Cruz, chairperson of the 1st Division of the anti-graft court, ordered that the joint motion for bail of Ronald John Lim and and John Raymond de Asis be denied.
Dela Cruz noted that the two co-accused of the senator and businesswoman Janet Napoles have yet to submit themselves before the court and remain at large.
Meanwhile, the bail hearings for the requests of Revilla and Napoles have been set on July 10.
Revilla is now detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame while Napoles is detained at a police camp in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Napoles, the alleged brains of the P10-billion pork barrel scam, is also facing illegal detention charges before the Makati court by whistleblower Benhur Luy.
