MANILA, Philippines - Graduates from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) topped the nursing and pharmacy licensure exams.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced last night that 11,225 out of 29,188 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given in Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Cabanatuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, Iloilo, Laoag, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last May.
On the other hand, 1,525 of the 2,770 who took the pharmacy licensure exam in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao passed.
The examinees who got the highest scores in nursing were Ma. Margaret Sanchez (UST) with a score of 86 percent; Ariel Bitong Jr. (UST) and Rtiffany Jeanne Severno (University of Nueva Caceres), 85.40; Dominique Cesa (UST), Charisse Ronggal Faa (Adventist University of the Philippines) and Bernard Von Kyle Icamen (Cebu Normal College), 85.20;
Jeorge Calpito (UST), Katrina Geronimo (UST), Sarah May Sia James (UST) and Maria Bianca Mararac Molina (UST), 85; and Daniel Torreja Roldan, Makat Medical Center, 84.80.
Hannah Cathlyn Co of UST topped the pharmacy examination with a grade of 90.47 percent.
Another UST graduate, Elmer Tagra II, and University of the Philippines graduate Mark Kua shared the second spot with a score of 90.38 percent.
Bianca Ginette Leal (UP) ranked third with 90.32 percent, followed by another UST graduate, Rovileen Barroquiña, who placed fourth with 90.30 percent.
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
