MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police now has 144 new Inspectors and 81 Superintendents after 1,029 examinees passed the promotional examinations conducted by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) on April 27.
According to the Napolcom, of the 1,029 examinees who took the Inspector Exam, only 144 or 13.99 percent passed while 81 or 34.91 percent out of the 232 examinees hurdled the Superintendent Exam.
“The initial list of passers in the PNP Entrance, Police Officer and Senior Police Officer Exams was released on June 5, 2014, only five (5) weeks after the conduct of the exam instead of the usual two (2) months after the exam,†Napolcom Vice Chairman Eduardo Escueta said.
Escueta said the immediate release of the results of police exams is in consonance with the Commission’s commitment with the PNP and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to make the examination results in synch with the recruitment and promotion processing periods set by the PNP.
The Napolcom assessed the competency of police officers who took the PNP Promotional Exams based on their knowledge on general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and tradition/values and ethical standards; while the aptitude of examinees for the PNP Entrance Exam was gauged based on the following subject areas: general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning.
Escueta said that the list of successful examinees will be posted at the Napolcom central office in its new building located at the DILG-Napolcom Center, Napolcom Bldg., EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City, and can be viewed at the NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph. Individual reports of rating will be mailed to all examinees.
Verification of test results will also be entertained at the Napolcom central office and its regional offices nationwide starting the last week of June 2014.
