Group urges Lacson to bare Napoles tape

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Jueteng payola whistleblower Sandra Cam on Wednesday called on rehab czar Panlilo Lacson to divulge the contents of the audio tape of the alleged conversations between businesswoman Janet Napoles and some government officials.

During a media forum in Greenhills, San Juan City, Cam urged Lacson to make public the Napoles audio tape to settle the controversies behind the priority development assistance fund.

"May audio sabi ni Secretary Lacson. I have a very high regard for this fellow because he's the only one na hindi talaga tumanggap ng PDAF.

"In  fairness to Secretary Lacson, siya ay malinis so siya din ang nagsabi na may listahan siyang binigay ng Jimmy Napoles at saka   ng audio. Sana po 'yung tape sir, ilabas ninyo na po para malaman ng tao kung sino 'yung kausap ni Mrs. Napoles na very high very profile personality," Cam told reporters.

She also called on Senator Grace Poe to do an "honorable resignation" and lead the cleansing process of the institution damaged by the revelations of Napoles, the alleged brain behind the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

"Senator Grace should lead the resignation. Ikaw (Poe) lang ang magpapabago sa bulok na sistema na ito," Cam said.

Lawyer Melchor Magdamo, another member of the Whistleblower Association of the Philippines, said Poe should lead other "clean" legislators to resign from their posts to set a good example for other lawmakers.

"Kayo na lang po ang mag resign...kayo na ang lumayo sa mga madudumi (legislators). Make an honorable resignation and the people will follow you," Magdamo said.
