Cam says NBI, DOJ got P150M from Napoles

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Officials of the National Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice had received a total of P150 million bribe from the camp of businesswoman Janet Napoles in exchange for the dismissal of the serious illegal detention charge filed by the family of pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.

This was the revelation on Wednesday by jueteng payola whislteblower Sandra Cam as she and other whistleblowers called for the resignation of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

Citing a source, Cam, speaking before a media forum in Greenhills, San Juan City, also accused former NBI director Nonnatus Rojas of receiving P30 million during a lunch meeting with lawyers Alfredo Villamor, Plaridel Bohol and Napoles in his office on May 23, 2013.

"Iba dun pinaghati-hatian sa DOJ...huwag mong sabihin dito na walang kinalaman dito si Secretary de Lima," she said.

"Ang dismissal ng kaso ay hindi lang po manggagaling sa prosecutor pero mismo sa Secretary of Justice," Cam added.

She also cited the two resolutions of the serious illegal detention complaint against Napoles, the first on June 10, 2013 which dismissed the charges and the other which found probable cause to file the case before the Makati City court.

Cam also noted de Lima did not do any action when she told the DOJ chief that she had got hold of a witness who could give information on the whereabouts of the fugitive brothers , ex Palawan governor Joel Reyes and Mario Reyes.

"May ginawa ba si De Lima? Wala nang integridad sa amin si De Lima...you (De Lima) never lifted a finger," she said.

Another whistleblower, lawyer Melchor Magdamo, said De Lima should resign for her alleged part in dismissing the case against Napoles.

"De Lima is already lawyering for Napoles...the very least she [could do is to] inhibit herself from the case. De Lima must resign," Magdamo said.

Cam said she and other whistleblowers will gather at least a million signatures to petition De Lima out of her office.

If the DOJ chief would not step down from her post, the group will take legal actions against her.
