Pinoy hackers of Chinese websites told: Obey Phl laws

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Tuesday reminded the Filipino hackers of Chinese wesbites to abide by the Philippines'  laws on the internet.

"We have laws on maintenance of integrity of (internet) sites, in cyberspace, and we need to remind all concerned that such laws are being enforced in our country, respective of views that may be held by people who are resorting to those actions," Presidential Communication Operations Office head Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a press briefing.

One of the groups of Filipino hackers called "Anonymous Philippines" has claimed responsibility for the defacement of 200 Chinese government and commercial websites late Monday.

In the defaced Chinese websites, the hackers posted a message: "China's alleged claim on maritime territories and oppressive poaching can no longer be tolerated. Stand against Oppression! It's time to fight back! Say no to China's bullying!"

The hackers were referring to Chinese poachers in the disputed Hasa-Hasa Shoal (Half Moon Shoal) off Palawan who were arrested by Philippine authorities.

The Chinese poachers' vessel that carried 400 sea turtles was also seized by local policemen.
