MANILA, Philippines - At least 60 Chinese government and private websites were defaced by Filipino hackers in revenge for China’s aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea, according to an ABS-CBN resport last night.
Hackers inserted pages on the websites and posted a message which, they said, is part of a campaign dubbed “OpChinaReloaded,†the report said.
The message stated: “China’s alleged claim on maritime territories and oppressive poaching can no longer be tolerated. Stand against oppression! It’s time to fight back! Say no to China’s bullying!â€
The hackers claimed they belong to the groups “Anonymous Phillippines,†“Panay Cyber Haxxors,†“Panay Cyber Army,†and “Phantom Hackers PH.â€
In 2012, various groups also launched similar attacks. Chinese hackers retaliated and defaced Filipino websites.
