Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The remains of the Filipina nurse found dead in a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will be home soon.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) yesterday vowed to exert efforts for the immediate repatriation of the body of Evelyn de los Santos.

OWWA chief Carmelita Dimzon also confirmed that De los Santos was a bona fide member of the agency, thus her family is entitled to benefits from the agency.

Earlier, the family of the 38-year-old Filipina nurse appealed for the immediate repatriation of her body.

De los Santos was found dead inside the Riyadh hospital where she was working. There were reports that bruises were found on her body.

But her Egyptian husband, whom she married only last November, maintained that the cause of her death was natural.
