Gov't to roll out upgraded portal for tracking typhoon aid in April

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - The government said today that it will launch the upgraded portal for tracking donations provided by foreign donors to typhoon-hit areas dubbed as Foreign Aid Transparency Hub (FAiTH) 2.0 next month.

Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said in a press briefing that the enhanced portal will allow foreign embassies to input and update assistance given by their respective countries.

The older version merely displayed foreign aid and assistance as well as pledges made by donors for the victims of typhoon Haiyan (local name: Yolanda) in central Philippines.

Lacierda said the Department of Foreign Affairs will be giving embassies access to the portal so they can update their contributions to FAiTH. It will be available on April 7.

Typhoon Haiyan, which made landfall on Nov. 8 last year, killed more than 6,000 people and destroyed billions of pesos worth of crops and infrastructure in central Philippines.
