MNLF head hurt in road mishap

John Unson - The Philippine Star

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – Former Cotabato City vice mayor Muslimin Sema, chairman of the largest faction in the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), was injured in a vehicular accident yesterday at a secluded stretch of the Cotabato-General Santos Highway in Talayan town in Maguindanao.

He was taken to a hospital in Davao City.

Sema’s aide Bon-Bon Sinsuat died in the accident.

Initial police reports said Sema and his companions were on their way home to Cotabato City from South Cotabato when their black Toyota Grandia van collided with a cargo truck coming from the opposite direction.

“The former vice mayor is in safe condition,” one of Sema’s relatives said. “The family decided to rush him to Davao City because hospitals there are more advanced and modern.”
