MANILA, Philippines - A Las Vegas court is set to sentence a 22-year-old Filipino-American after he was found guilty of slashing his family dog’s throat.
Jeremy Espiritu admitted to police that he likes torturing dogs “for the thrill of it,†according to an ABS-CBN report. Espiritu is now facing felony or misdemeanor charges for killing a black Labrador mix.
“I just wanted to stab the dog so I sat on the floor and cut its neck,†the report said, quoting Espiritu.
Police recovered a six-inch blooded knife near the kitchen.
Espiritu may face up to four years imprisonment on a class D felony for torturing or maiming an animal, the report said.
