Fil-Am guilty of slashing dog’s throat

MANILA, Philippines - A Las Vegas court is set to sentence a 22-year-old Filipino-American after he was found guilty of slashing his family dog’s throat.

Jeremy Espiritu admitted to police that he likes torturing dogs “for the thrill of it,” according to an ABS-CBN report. Espiritu is now facing felony or misdemeanor charges for killing a black Labrador mix.

“I just wanted to stab the dog so I sat on the floor and cut its neck,” the report said, quoting Espiritu.

Police recovered a six-inch blooded knife near the kitchen.

Espiritu may face up to four years imprisonment on a class D felony for torturing or maiming an animal, the report said.
