MANILA, Philippines - Police escorts brought businesswoman Janet Napoles, the alleged brains behind the P10 billion pork barrel scam, from her detention cell in Laguna to a hospital inside the Philippine National Police headquarters in Quezon City for a medical check up early Wednesday.
The first convoy of police escorts arrived at Fort Sto. Domingo, Sta. Rosa, Laguna at around 4:15 a.m.
The second convoy arrived at the area several minutes later.
The first convoy believed to be carrying Napoles arrived at Camp Crame in Quezon City at around 7:00 a.m.
The convoy went straight to the PNP General Hospital.
Earlier, the Makati City court allowed Napoles, through her legal counsels, to have a medical check up outside her detention cell at Fort Sto. Domingo for suspected ovarian tumor.
Napoles is expected to undergo three medical procedures including a blood test and a transvaginal ultrasound.
