MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr decried Monday the Gestapo-style tactics employed by government agents against his former political staff member, Richard Cambe, and other personalities to force them to testify against him and his two other fellow senators in relation to the pork barrel scam.
Revilla noted that National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents swooped down the house of Cambe’s mother in Zambales in a bid to pin him down.
Revilla said he and his family are ready for any eventuality that will arise as the government starts to pin him, and fellow senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada, for plunder complaint now pending before the Sandiganbayan.
“We’re ready. Sobrang pulitika na ito, sobrang pamumulitika na ito eh. Lumampas sila sa red line. Talagang hindi na tama. Sobrang panggipit na ito. Hindi na ito makatao,†Revilla said during the sidelines at the 51st birthday celebration of Sen. Estrada at the latter’s office on the 6th floor of the Senate on Monday.
Revilla believes that Cambe will not turn his back against him, otherwise, any statement that would come from his former political adviser might just be all lies and fabricated stories.
“He will be lying if he will testify against me, if there is anything he will say that will pin me down. I don’t think he will do that,†Revilla added.
Revilla even belied reports that Cambe left the country to evade charges leveled against them before the Ombudsman.
“There is no truth that he will testify against me. There is nothing to say. Whatever is in the affidavit, that’s it,†Revilla added.
