MANILA, Philippines — Former first lady and now Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos visited former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) on Wednesday afternoon.
Live television footage showed that Ferdinand Topacio, lawyer of the now Pampanga Representative, even took a photo of Marcos with his tablet computer during the visit.
Arroyo remains in hospital detention at the VMMC in Quezon City for allegedly plundering the intelligence funds of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
Marcos is one of the prominent personalities who have visited Arroyo, which include retired Lingayen Archibishop Oscar Cruz and former presidents Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph Estrada.
The recent visits of Ramos and Estrada, who is now the Mayor of Manila, spawned rumors that the three former presidents are creating a political alliance that would back up a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.
