P216-M shabu seized in Pampanga
MEXICO, Pampanga, Philippines – Police seized an estimated P216 million worth of illegal drugs from a Chinese national and his Filipino cohort in a sting operation here Friday.
Provincial police director Senior Superintendent Oscar Albayalde said the suspects, Ding Wenkun, 30, a Chinese national and Roel Cabag, 48, of Cebu, were caught with 36.5 kilos of shabu during a buy bust operation at Woodbridge Subdivision in Barangay Divisoria.
A police undercover agent initially arranged to buy shabu worth P100,000 from the suspects.
The police team moved in for the arrests as soon as the transaction was completed, he said.
Lawmen recovered some P400,000 cash from the suspects, including the P100,000 marked money used by the police for the entrapment.
Albayade said criminal charges are being prepared against the suspects now detained at the provincial jail.
