Donors warned vs relief con artists

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine STAR social arm Operation Damayan warns the public that a certain individual introducing himself as “Press Secretary Edwin Lacierda” has been asking for donations via text messages.

According to reports, the poser uses mobile number 0915-7759147 and is seeking cash donations amounting to P50,000 for “team-building activities.” The names of other government officials such as Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Sececretary Greg Domingo and Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. were also being used for the scheme.
