TV5 holds live telethon for Yolanda victims

MANILA, Philippines - In an effort to extend help and financial assistance to the thousands of Filipinos who have been displaced by Super Typhoon Yolanda, TV 5 will conduct a live fundraising telethon tonight starting at 9 p.m.

The Tulong Kapatid telethon will air from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. beginning with the live airing of The Mega and the Songwriter, with hosts Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid giving live musical performances to encourage people to “request and donate.”

The live telethon will resume tomorrow during Good Morning Club from 5:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Kapatid talents will be manning over 30 phone lines to accept pledges and donations via the trunkline 689-3355.
