Jinggoy’s wife leaves for US

Marvin Sy - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The wife of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has left for the United States, where she is scheduled to undergo medical treatment.

Precy Estrada left for San Francisco, California Thursday night on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 104, a staff of the senator said yesterday.  She left with her daughter Jill and son Julian.

The senator, who left for the US on Nov. 3, said the main purpose of his trip was to accompany his wife on her medical treatment.

abs-cbnnnews.com reported that Estrada, in an interview in San Francisco, said they would seek a second opinion regarding a lump discovered in the breast of his wife.

They visited the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.

“I submitted all her medical documents and the reason why she wasn’t able to travel with me was because my elder daughter was hospitalized,” Estrada was quoted as saying in the report.

Precy also had to make arrangements with the school of her youngest child, who traveled with her.

She said she is standing by her husband in this toughest challenge of his political career. “In my heart and our children’s we known that he’s not guilty. We know that my husband is a good man and he has helped a lot of people,” she said.

No information was given as to when the Estradas would return to the country, but the senator earlier said he would arrive before the resumption of the plenary session on Nov. 18. -Marvin Sy
