MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III and his four sisters paid respects to the graves of his parents in Parañaque City, two days before the yearly All Saints' Day observance on November 1.

The President arrived around 10:15 a.m. at the Manila Memorial Park where former President Corazon Aquino and martyred opposition leader Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. are buried.

His sisters Ballsy Cruz, Pinky Abellada, Viel Dee and Kris Aquino also visted their parents' graves and were accompanied by their respective spouses, an article from the Presidential Communications Operations Office said.

Also on Wednesday, the President ordered concerned government agencies to ensure the safety and convenience of the commuting public for the traditional commemoration of November 1 and 2.

A statement issued by the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson said Aquino and some Cabinet officials will inspect terminals and other transport hubs as part of the operations.

The Department of Transportation and Communication has launched Oplan Ligtas Biyahe: Undas 2013 to ensure efficient and secured transportation to the commuting public for the long weekend.
