MANILA, Philippines - The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) on Monday assured the public of stable electricity supply throughout the canvassing of votes for the nationwide barangay polls.
The grid operator said since Saturday morning, it has full operations in its head office in Diliman, Quezon City as well as in satellite offices in North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
NGCP said its Power Task Force will operate on a 24-hour basis until the canvassing of votes has been completed, to monitor system condition, restoration activities and reports from its regional command centers.
"The corporation continues to conduct regular maintenance activities and expansion projects to enhance the quality of electricity delivered to customers and the public," the NGCP said, adding that it is prepared to organize a similar task force to ensure reliable power transmission services during crucial national events such as elections.
