MANILA, Philippines - As part of the full honors for the late Leandro Mendoza, the Philippine National Police on Friday said it will hold a necrological service to pay homage to the former PNP chief.
The Holy Mass and necrological service will be held around 7 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Hall inside the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, the PNP said it will accord departure honors for Mendoza en route to Heritage Park in Taguig City.
The PNP earlier said that it will place its flag at half mast as part of the full honors given to the former police official.
Mendoza, who served as the ninth PNP chief of the country, died of stroke while at his residence in Parañaque City last Monday. He was 67.
After bowing out of the police force in 2002, Mendoza was appointed by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to lead the Department of Transportation and Communications.
