Probers waiting for ad exec’s autopsy results

MANILA, Philippines - Cavite police investigators are hoping to get leads from the result of the autopsy of Kristelle “Kae” Davantes, the advertising executive whose body with multiple stab wounds was dumped in a bridge in Silang town last Sept. 7.

Inspector Valero Bueno, lead investigator in the Davantes case, said the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory is conducting the autopsy in Tagaytay.

Investigators still have no leads on the case.

Devantes, 25, was senior account manager of McCann Worldgroup Philippines MRM and marketing officer of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.

Bueno could not say when the result of the autopsy will be released.

“We are still waiting for the result of the autopsy. We are hoping to find something from there and lead us to her attackers. We are also pursuing some leads but we can’t divulge them yet, pending verification and investigation,” he added.

He said the remains of Davantes showed no signs of sexual assault.

The body of Davantes was found with multiple stab wounds under the Tibagan Bridge in Barangay Sabutan, Silang, Cavite at around 6 a.m. last Saturday.

She was hogtied with a seatbelt and a handkerchief was stuffed in her mouth. Her neck bore strangulation marks, possibly from a laptop cable that was recovered along with a knife near her body.

Her gold Toyota Altis with license plates PIM-966, which she was driving when she went missing last Saturday, has not been found.

Bueno admitted that investigators have no significant information from the interviews conducted with the co-workers of Davantes that could lead to the solution of the killing.

Relatives and friends are calling for justice for Davantes.

A Facebook post showed Davantes had drinks with her colleagues Friday night in a bar at the Bonifacio Global City.

They ended up at around 1 a.m. Saturday. It was the last time Davantes was seen alive.

Her family sent out a missing persons notice on the photo sharing website Instagram.
