MANILA, Philippines - Janet Lim-Napoles, the alleged brains behind the P10-billion pork barrel scam, once again suffered  hypertension attack on her second day at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna.

Napoles' blood pressure rose to 200/130 before dawn Tuesday, according to Philippine National Police (PNP) public information office chief Senior Supt. Rueben Theodore Sindac.

He added that Napoles also complained of facial numbness and headache. Radio reports said the businesswoman complained of "tingling sensation" on the left side of her face around 1 a.m.

After taking her medicine, her blood pressure stabilized at 140/80  at 5 a.m. She remains under close monitoring.

"We expect her lawyers to visit her any time today to include her private doctors. Immediate family members will be authorized to visit her  from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.,"Sindac said in a text message.

After being detained at Camp Crame and Makati City Jail, Napoles has been staying at the tightly secured Fort Sto. Domingo since Sunday morning.

Sindac has also said that two Special Action Force (SAF) officers will be assigned to check on food being served to Napoles to ensure that she will not be poisoned while being detained.

He said all food brought to Napoles are screened first by the two female SAF security personnel.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas earlier said Napoles will be supplied with the same food given to trainees inside the SAF training camp.

While he has repeatedly claimed that there is no special treatment being given to Napoles, Roxas said they are only ensuring that the businesswoman  will be safe so she may face the charges against her and share what she knows about the pork barrel scam.

The PNP said it will keep a closer look on Napoles' health following her anxiety attack before dawn Monday.

Sindac said Napoles complained of an anxiety attack due to her claustrophobia.
