Roxas, Purisima inspect Napoles’ detention facility
MANILA, Philippines - Security officials led by Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II and Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima flew over to Fort Sto. Domingo in Santa Rosa, Laguna in a helicopter yesterday in what could have been a dry run of how businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles would be transferred from the Makati City Jail.
Roxas and Purisima led officials in inspecting the facility where Napoles is scheduled to be detained following the orders of the Makati City court to have the controversial businesswoman secured in the police camp for security risks.
Fort Sto. Domingo also serves as a training facility for the elite police Special Action Force (SAF).
Napoles, following her surrender Wednesday, was detained at the Makati City Jail, situated minutes away from the Bonifacio Global City where many buildings have their own helipads and plenty of open spaces that could accommodate a helicopter.
The nearby Manila Golf and Country Club could also be used as a possible helicopter landing field.
